National Lottery Funds 55k of new outdoor equipment for Co Wexford VEC

A substantial grant from the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism to all outdoor education centres has led to the delivery of 55k of equipment to Shielbaggan OEC.

This new equipment includes a fleet of sit on top kayak, ideal for national school and first time kayakers.

A fleet of expedition Standard Sea Kayaks, these will enable the development of advanced sea kayaking courses and the development of Sea kayaking trips on the South Wexford coastline and further afield.

Point 65 Sea Cruiser, Shielbaggan now has 16 of these!

And more than 30 of these Perception Scooters.
Also some of this funding has been put towards the development of orienteering maps for Forth Mountain, Raven Point and Forest Park in Courtown.

This will enable Shielbaggan and Wexford sports active to offer orienteering throughout Wexford.

Shielbaggan also now has 30 foam surf boards and a specialist surf trailer. This will enable whole classes to on the water in bad weather.
